Gov. Greg Abbott’s stay-at-home order expires Thursday, and many Texas businesses may open Friday.
Gov. Greg Abbott on Monday said, “His statewide stay-at-home order on coronavirus will expire on Thursday as scheduled, while Texas malls, stores, movie theaters and restaurants may open the next day — with 25% occupancy.” Apparently, he decided if the shutdown continued, it would completely kill the Texas free enterprise system.
He also said, “Barber shops, hair salons, gyms, massage establishments, tattoo parlors, video arcades and bowling alleys must wait until mid-May at the earliest to reopen.” If I don’t get a haircut soon, we will be calling this blog ‘The Conservative Hippie’s News Blitz.”
Texas – A Free Enterprise State
Unlike many liberal states, Texas supports the free enterprise system and the entrepreneurs who drive economic progress. Maybe other states should take the hint and end the shutdown before it destroys the lives of millions upon millions of men and women. Without the power of small businesses and employment, the economic situation remains quite hopeless.
Of course, some politicians wouldn’t mind keeping people imprisoned indefinitely.
Julián Castro is an American politician from San Antonio and a member of the Democratic Party. He was the youngest member of President Obama’s Cabinet, serving as the 16th United States Secretary of Housing and Urban Development from 2014 to 2017.
“He stated that Governor Abbott’s leadership during this crisis has been weak and erratic, motivated more by politics than public health.
Texans should follow CDC guidance and continue to do our part to keep people safe by staying home for now and practicing social distancing.”
Right, Julian. Let’s just let the economic system go belly up so that 100x more people die from poverty, starvation, violence, suicide, drug abuse and alcoholism than from the Coronavirus.
What can you do about anti-capitalist Democrats who drink the cool-aid of socialism? If these people ever take control of Texas, it’s all over for the free enterprise system.
Destruction of Wealth
Here’s a fact for you. Beginning with the creation of those wealth destroying entities called the Federal Reserve System and the Federal Income Tax, politicians, altruists, government bureaucrats, and the establishment media have existed for one purpose only, to destroy the capitalistic system and “The American Way of Life.” The facts speak for themselves. They have succeeded quite well. As incredible as it might seem, the voters have unwittingly supported them in their evil mission of destruction. Now the Coronavirus Pandemic has accelerated their efforts to create an economic apocalypse.
“What you don’t learn through wisdom you learn through woe.” Sadly, wisdom remains in short supply. Woe is now the lot of far too many people, the difficult times of economic hardship and economic despair. As the Bible states: “but the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth (Matthew 8: 11-12).” It pains me to acknowledge that this could be a nightmare for years to come.
Plans of the Political and Financial Establishment
Do you remember hearing this piece of timeless wisdom from Robert Burns? “The best-laid plans of mice and men go oft astray.” The plans of altruists, politicians, government bureaucrats and establishment financial “wizards” were poorly laid plans based on economic illusions. Obviously, they had no chance of succeeding, as the cold hard facts demonstrate. The tragic results manifest as the decline of the middle class. Only the political and financial establishment benefited from the bailouts. The rest of us suffer from the “bailout blues.”
You might have noticed that the stock market had gone up during the 5-week period when more than 26,000,000 men and women applied for unemployment—Wall Street parties at the expense of Main Street. Bring on the stimulant drugs of a fiat currency and not worry about the day the crash comes. The financial establishment doesn’t expect to suffer too much since it can transfer most of the damage to the middle class. Do you think the average citizen might awaken from his stupor and say enough is enough?
Social Altruism – The Poison that Kills the American Way of Life
Let’s face the harsh reality that social altruism is not a loving, giving philosophy. It tragically manifests as a cannibalistic philosophy of self-sacrifice. In fact, it destroys the sublime values necessary for the well-being of the human race, which is why it is anti-life. The psychopaths that pollute the political and financial establishment use social altruism as a powerful weapon that plunders the average citizen of his hard-earned money.
Unfortunately, delusional people seldom relinquish their delusions. Everything government does to “alleviate” the economic blues will only worsen the situation, taking illogic to its logical conclusion, eventual economic breakdown…and I believe we have arrived.
Sadly, we have become a nation of the irrationally selfish. We want it now—regardless of whether we have produced or earned it. Many Americans demand instant gratification instead of planning and saving for the future. Is it possible they traded their personal liberty and economic freedom for the stimulus money they so eagerly accept? It appears the price for slaves has plummeted.
What’s sad is that the shutdown has so impoverished people you can’t blame them for accepting the stimulus money. Survival hit number one on the top ten list.
The establishment’s favorite economist John Maynard Keynes said, “In the long run, we are all dead.” Even though he is dead, the rest of us are now reaping the effects of his spurious economic theories. Governments “thrive” by ignoring the long-run consequences of their policies. I’m sure you realize that most people live their life as if tomorrow never comes. Irrational selfishness runs amok until the piper demands payment that makes a loan shark look like a low-interest provider.
Unhampered Free Enterprise Capitalism and the Enlightened Individual
Here’s the truth. An enlightened individual supports the social system of unhampered free enterprise capitalism because he knows it is the only system based on logic, reason and sound economic principles. Since he or she is basically a benevolent individual, he or she desires value for value relationships that benefit all.
The enlightened person would never support the predatory systems of socialism and government interventionism because he realizes these systems extort value from the productive to give unearned benefits to the unproductive. He considers all government intervention in the marketplace as theft. He believes the government’s only legitimate function is to protect an individual’s life, liberty and property. Some believe we can completely dispense with governments. Others hope that someday the human race will evolve to the point where the “state” withers away.
Support Free Enterprise Capitalism
If you are painfully aware that all government intervention in the marketplace is counterproductive and downright destructive—if you have decided that altruism and irrational selfishness is not in your best interest—if you realize the enlightened life is the one for you, then you have no choice but to support the only system that is rational and logical—unhampered capitalism.
The above is exactly how a Conservative Warrior thinks and feels.
If you have children, if you desire them to have the chance to seek new opportunities and live a life of happiness and success—you must wholeheartedly embrace the social system of free enterprise capitalism. Someday your children’s children’s children may thank you and their lucky stars.
