No matter what the media and Obama Administration keep telling us, good old American common sense dictates that Ebola will spread around the United States unless people coming from Ebola-ridden West Africa are banned from entering this country without first being properly quarantined.
There, we said it. The Conservative Party’s official stand matches what most clear-thinking Americans know in their bones is the correct policy. Simple.
Taking cursory temperature readings and asking people silly questions at airports are flimsy defenses against a serial killer like Ebola. It’s akin to using a pen knife at a machine gun fight. Thomas Edward Duncan penetrated those “defenses” with little trouble and so will hundreds of other Ebola carriers looking to escape the scourge. The new case of a Dallas hospital worker getting infected by Duncan adds urgency to such a ban. The CDC better start worrying about protecting Americans rather than being concerned about offending West Africans. Or liberals.
CP-USA understands and supports the notion that America should assist West African nations fight this deadly virus. Sending 3, 500 US troops to build field hospitals in Liberia is risky but makes the right statement. We also urge other major nations like China, Russia, Canada, India, England and the European Union to get cracking and help, too. What’s the holdup, boys? It’s time to cowboy up not hold up.
Ebola must be isolated and eradicated…..in West Africa. Keeping Ebola isolated to only one part of the world certainly makes a LOT more sense than allowing it to spread to other parts of the world. CP-USA also urges all nations to enact similar travel restrictions on West Africans immediately.
That means restricting all West Africans from traveling outside that region until this eruption is controlled. That’s why hospital isolation wards were invented and that’s why the United Nations should impose the same principle in West Africa. If that sounds harsh or mean, so be it. If that sounds tough or politically incorrect, so be it. And yes, it’s discriminatory. Deal with it.
The argument that America should not ban travelers from Ebola regions because it would hinder eradication efforts is silly and specious. Such a ban does not affect medical staff or supplies or medicine going to West Africa, it just requires restrictions or quarantine for people coming from West Africa. Duh!
Doctors, nurses and troops officially sanctioned by the United States to work in Ebola regions must endure the 21 day quarantine before returning to the United States. All non-sanctioned civilians who traveled to (or live in) the region must also be quarantined prior to entering the US. In addition, those individuals must bear the cost of quarantine.
CP-USA urges House Republicans to use the Power of the Purse to force Obama and the CDC to enact such a policy effective…..yesterday. We can’t allow Ebola to spread like the enterovirus D68 introduced by many of those illegal immigrant children from Central America. The CDC reports that 538 people in 43 states have already contracted EV D68 during the last 45 days alone. At least five American children have died from it.
If the politically correct CDC says 538 people have EV D68 you just know the real number is higher. The CDC is run by Obama acolytes who also don’t want to jeopardize open borders and amnesty. That’s why the CDC refuses to disclose the cities in which those illegal immigrants are located.
CP-USA offers a simple but effective solution for civilians who reject the idea of being quarantined after visiting Ebola regions: don’t go in the first place.
