Despite their repeated and over-heated claims they would move heaven and earth to stop Obama’s unconstitutional Executive Amnesty for illegal aliens, 10 Republicans ….lead by Senate Majority Leader McConnell…. actually voted to confirm a new Attorney General who said she supported and endorsed that policy.
Not only did the newly-minted Senate Republican majority approve a budget that funded Obama’s Executive Amnesty, they just voted to confirm Loretta Lynch. She will now use the full force of the entire Department of Justice to help Obama skirt the Constitution for the next two years.
The growing list of discarded GOP pledges looks like of pile of bones, bleached and rotting in the sun. That mountain of Republican broken promises is so high and wide today that conservatives need wings to rise above it. Voting to confirm Lynch is but the latest example of GOP treachery, tyranny and cowardice. They also voted to fund ObamaCare in December of 2014. They voted to fund Executive Amnesty last month and will vote to raise the Debt Ceiling…again. That’s a promise.
Sadly, most rank and file Republicans will simply hold their noses and keep their heads in the sand. They will continue with business as usual by supporting a party that routinely abandons its pledges when pressed by Obama, Democrats and the media.
Remember that lawsuit against the President about ObamaCare initiated by Speaker Boehner last year? House Republicans seem to have lost that file. Actually, it was a scam perpetrated by the GOP to fool conservatives into voting for them before the election. It worked. That’s why Republicans have failed to even whisper about it lately.
The only Republican with a modicum of courage and integrity is Senator Ted Cruz. He railed against his hapless Republican colleagues and refused to even vote on the Lynch nomination. Mr. Cruz rightly explained that Republicans and their leadership voted exactly the same as Democrats. In other words, there is no difference between the two major parties on the confirming someone who will continue the Obama-Holder legacy.
We conservatives now wonder why we helped give Republicans the majority in the Senate. What’s the point if they just rollover and vote like Democrats on key issues?
The Conservative Party was founded on the premise that the two major parties are failing America. While Democrats are true to their tax and spend agenda to grow government, Republicans have no agenda other than getting elected so it can control that expanding government. We hope that conservative Republicans and Tea Party activists wake up…soon.
